About the Role
Programs of Study
Discover how Houston ISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs empower students to explore their passions, gain real-world skills, and prepare for high-demand careers. From hands-on learning to industry certifications and college credit opportunities, CTE offers students a powerful head start toward future success.
A program of study is a structured sequence of courses designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in their chosen career. These programs include relevant real-world experiences and culminate in a postsecondary credential, ensuring students are equipped for high-wage, in-demand, and high-skill careers.
For example, there are programs of study focused on information technology (e.g. cybersecurity and networking) and on health science (e.g. health informatics and nursing science).
