We are recruiting an Interim Quantity Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Nottingham, supporting commercial and property services across the local region on a 6-month contract.
As an Interim Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs, valuations, and financial performance across a range of housing projects, ensuring value for money and compliance with contractual obligations.

Rate: £45 – £50 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract: 6-month interim assignment (potential for extension)
Working pattern: Full-time (37–40 hours per week)
About the Company:
Our client is a well-established Social Housing group managing a large portfolio of residential properties across Nottingham and the surrounding areas. They are committed to delivering high-quality homes, maintaining strong financial control, and providing excellent services to their tenants and communities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reporting across multiple projects
- Preparing tender and contract documentation and supporting procurement processes
- Valuing works and managing interim and final accounts with contractors
- Monitoring project costs and identifying risks or opportunities to ensure cost efficiency
- Supporting contract administration and ensuring compliance with contractual terms
- Working closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders
- Handling variations, change control processes, and dispute resolution where required
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping and financial tracking using internal systems
- Supporting the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance programmes
The successful Interim Quantity Surveyor will have:
- Proven experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within Social Housing or public sector projects
- A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of cost management, contracts, and procurement processes
- Experience managing contractor relationships and financial negotiations
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant commercial systems
