About the Role

Are you an ambitious pharmaceutical sales professional looking to play a key role in the launch and growth of an innovative specialist medicine?

We are partnering with an innovative pharmaceutical organisation seeking a Key Account Manager to drive awareness, adoption and commercial success across Cheshire & Merseyside.

This is a field-based secondary care role, focused on building trusted partnerships with healthcare professionals, identifying opportunities to improve patient access, and delivering strong commercial performance through strategic, insight-led account management.

Everything you need to know about the role

You will take full ownership of your territory, leading launch execution and driving product uptake through targeted, value-based engagement with key stakeholders. Working collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues and partner field teams, you'll play an integral role in delivering a seamless customer experience and achieving sustainable territory growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Launch and grow promoted products across your territory.
  • Develop and execute a robust territory business plan aligned to local customer needs.
  • Build strong relationships with secondary care specialists, Key Opinion Leaders and priority stakeholders.
  • Drive hospital formulary inclusion and support the development of local treatment pathways.
  • Identify opportunities and anticipate challenges through effective territory analysis and strategic account planning.
  • Use CRM systems, digital analytics and omnichannel tools to optimise customer engagement.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting, identify risks and opportunities, and effectively manage territory budgets.
  • Collaborate closely with Medical, Market Access, Marketing, Patient Support and partner field teams to deliver a joined-up customer experience.
  • Educate healthcare professionals on the safe and appropriate use of products within approved indications.
  • Represent the organisation at congresses, educational meetings and industry events.

Experience and qualities that make you a strong fit

  • ABPI qualified.
  • A proven track record of success within secondary care pharmaceutical sales is essential.
  • Experience within at least one of the following therapy areas is essential: Psychiatry, Neurology, Women's Health, Respiratory or Elderly Care.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding territory sales objectives.
  • Strong understanding of NHS structures, patient pathways and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to influence local treatment pathways and secure formulary inclusion.
  • A collaborative, team-first approach, with the ability to build strong relationships across cross-functional and partner teams.
  • A growth mindset, with a willingness to embrace coaching, continuously learn and adapt in a changing healthcare environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to anticipate opportunities, identify potential barriers and think strategically across your territory.
  • Excellent planning, analytical and communication skills.
