This is a 70/30 hybrid role designed for a senior engineer who loves staying close to the metal while expanding their people management footprint. You will spend roughly 70% of your time on hands-on architecture and high-scale coding, and 30% on mentoring, coaching, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Execution (~70%)

  • Architect & Build: Design, implement, and optimize scalable integration infrastructure, aiming for five-nines availability and real-time data synchronization.
  • Hands-on Coding: Write clean, production-grade code, conduct thorough code reviews, and drive architectural decisions using TypeScript and NestJS.
  • Data Pipelines: Own the technical vision for API connectors, webhook infrastructure, and distributed data processing sync pipelines.
  • Best Practices: Champion rigorous code quality, comprehensive testing, robust observability, and performance monitoring across the stack.

People Management & Team Leadership (~30%)

  • Build the Team: Drive the hiring process by defining engineering roles, interviewing candidates, and making critical hiring decisions.
  • Culture & Process: Foster a high-trust, high-output team culture rooted in psychological safety and accountability.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management and Engineering leadership to groom backlogs, lead Agile ceremonies, and shape the technical roadmap.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is required.
  • Engineering Experience: 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, specifically focused on scalable, secure, and resilient distributed systems.
  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years of direct people management or formal tech-leading experience with direct reports.
  • Domain Expertise: Proven track record building and scaling integration infrastructure (e.g., API connectors, data sync pipelines, ETL frameworks, or iPaaS-style systems) handling large-scale data.
  • Core Tech Stack: Strong, production-level proficiency in TypeScript and NestJS is required.
  • Data & Cloud: Experience integrating with external databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Snowflake) alongside a solid understanding of cloud architectures and containerization.
