About the Role
Peabody, MA., September 4, 2025 – Sumaria Systems is proud to announce that Michael Lakos has joined our team as Business Development Manager. In his new role, Lakos will leverage his expertise in space and Air Force operations, program management, and growth strategies to expand Sumaria’s footprint across the Department of Defense (DoD) and other government agencies.

Lakos brings nearly four decades of distinguished service and leadership experience. A retired U.S. Air Force Colonel, he completed a 28-year active-duty career primarily focused on space operations, planning, managing, and directing missions at the highest levels of the DoD. His military service is complemented by a strong foundation in project management and IT, including a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, and ITIL v3 Foundations and Service Strategy certifications.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Lakos is an active member of the military officer community. He currently serves as Secretary of the Texas Military Officers Association (TMOA) Executive Board and is the former 1st Vice President, Programs, for the Austin Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). With his combination of military leadership, technical experience, and community involvement, Lakos is well-positioned to help Sumaria Systems strengthen relationships, identify new opportunities, and advance the company’s mission of supporting critical government programs.
