The National Geographic Content Operations team, part of the Disney Entertainment Television group, is responsible for supporting the prioritization and delivery of National Geographic content across multiple platforms, including linear, nonlinear, direct-to-consumer (DTC), and YouTube. The team oversees the delivery of hundreds of hours of premiere programming each year, in addition to managing an extensive library of long- and short-form content.
Working across linear and nonlinear television, Disney+, YouTube, and other distribution channels, the team ensures that content produced by creative teams aligns with programming strategy and is delivered on schedule to support premieres and localization efforts. In addition, the team plays a critical role in identifying and resolving operational challenges, proactively managing timelines, and implementing adjustments as needed to maintain efficient and timely content delivery.
The Content Operations YouTube Specialist is responsible for managing content implementation across National Geographic’s YouTube portfolio, including NG Brand, NG Animals, NG en Español, and NG Kids. This role serves as a hands-on operator, executing day-to-day channel operations while partnering closely with Programming to ensure content is delivered accurately, on time, and in compliance with current YouTube specifications.
The Specialist must demonstrate strong proficiency in YouTube Studio, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. Key responsibilities include publishing both short and long-form content, maintaining and updating metadata fields, and ensuring overall content quality and consistency across channels.
This role also requires proactive troubleshooting and timely resolution of platform or delivery issues. The Specialist collaborates closely with Post Production teams and internal resources, as well as with Programming and Strategy teams through regular touchpoints, to ensure alignment with broader content and audience strategies.

The hiring range for this position in Washington, D.C, is $59,600 to $79,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
