SEN Teacher - Complex Needs (PMLD)Southwark | Specialist SEN School | Full-TimeWe are working with a specialist SEN school in Southwark supporting pupils with severe and complex learning needs, including PMLD, who are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team.This is a highly rewarding role for a teacher who is confident delivering highly individualised learning, leading a classroom team, and adapting teaching approaches for pupils with complex needs.About the RoleYou will be responsible for leading learning within a specialist classroom environment where pupils require highly tailored educational provision. Lessons are often sensory-based, highly structured, and focused on communication, engagement, and functional life skills.Key responsibilities include:Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons for pupils with complex needs, including PMLDLeading a classroom team of teaching assistants to ensure consistent and effective supportUsing sensory, communication, and therapeutic approaches to engage learnersTracking and assessing progress in line with individual education plansWorking closely with therapists, families, and wider support staffCreating a safe, structured, and highly supportive learning environmentAbout YouThe school is looking for someone who has:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualificationExperience working with SEN, ideally within complex needs or specialist settingsA strong understanding of PMLD and multi-sensory learning approachesConfidence leading a team within the classroomA calm, adaptable, and resilient teaching styleA genuine commitment to inclusive and individualised educationThe SettingThis is a highly supportive specialist environment in Southwark with strong staffing ratios and a collaborative team approach.
