SEN Teacher - Manchester

About the role:

Justteachers is seeking a part-time SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in the Manchester area from September 2026 on a supply basis.
The setting supports pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties, and associated communication and behavioural needs. The school provides a structured and supportive learning environment, delivering personalised education programmes tailored to pupils’ EHCP outcomes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible lessons, supporting pupils to achieve their academic, social and personal development goals within a specialist setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver adapted lessons for pupils with a range of SEN needs
• Implement EHCP targets, individual learning plans and personalised teaching strategies
• Create a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment
• Support pupils’ communication, engagement and independence
• Use effective behaviour management strategies to support learning outcomes
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and external professionals
• Maintain safeguarding and welfare responsibilities at all times

Pre-requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching pupils with SEN, ideally within a specialist setting
• Strong understanding of autism, learning difficulties and communication needs
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and differentiated teaching approaches
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to work in the UK
