Newsquest Young Reporter Scheme Want to know whether journalism is for you? Then the Newsquest Young Reporter Scheme is an ideal choice to dip your toe in these exciting waters and gain some real work experience around your schooling. Students sign up through their school or college and embark on a ‘mock career’, which replicates real life in the world of journalism. They write eight articles over eight months and every article they write is published on Newsquest’s myriad of online newspaper titles. Open to school years 10 to 13, this is a fantastic chance for young people to challenge themselves, build confidence and push out of their comfort zones, in a professional setting. With continual support throughout the programme, students can then fast track themselves onto our apprenticeship programme.
