About the Role
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">We’re recruiting a Night Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in Emergency & Critical Care to join a well-established small animal veterinary group in the East Midlands. This is a permanent night role offering an excellent rota, strong clinical support, and the opportunity to work within a modern hospital environment, including a brand-new, purpose-built veterinary hospital opening in 2026.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:Aptos,sans-serif"><strong>About the Practice & Location:</strong></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">This is a large, RCVS-accredited small animal veterinary hospital with multiple branches across the East Midlands, providing 24-hour emergency and out-of-hours care, 365 days a year. The practice is well known locally for delivering high standards of affordable, patient-focused care and for its strong involvement in the local community and animal charities.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">The main hospital site is undergoing significant investment, with a new state-of-the-art facility opening in 2026. This will include separate dog and cat wards, multiple consult rooms (including a dedicated PTS room), dental and imaging suites, two theatres, and advanced diagnostics including CT. The East Midlands location offers excellent transport links, affordable living, and easy access to both countryside and major cities.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:Aptos,sans-serif"><strong>About the Role & Team:</strong></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">This is a dedicated Night Veterinary Surgeon (ECC) role working a 7 nights on / 14 nights off rota, averaging 40 hours per week on an annualised contract. The role is predominantly ECC-focused, allowing you to fully utilise and develop your emergency and critical care skill set.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">You’ll work alongside an experienced and supportive nursing team, with access to comprehensive in-house diagnostics and facilities. A strong non-clinical support structure (HR, finance, and health & safety) is in place, ensuring you can focus on clinical decision-making and patient care. You’ll also be part of a wider veterinary network, offering opportunities for collaboration, CPD, and long-term career development.</span></span></p>

<span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">To be considered for this role, you must be a UK-registered Veterinary Surgeon with experience in small animal practice. You’ll be confident managing emergency and critical care cases independently during night shifts and comfortable interpreting diagnostics and making informed clinical decisions.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">You’ll be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, able to remain calm under pressure and contribute positively to team culture and client relationships. An interest in ECC is essential, and prior out-of-hours or night work experience will be advantageous.</span></span></p>
