Position: Steel Material Handler
Location: Clackamas, OR
Pay: $25.00 + / hr DOE
Schedule: Full-Time Day Shift
Who We Are:
We are a busy steel fabrication and manufacturing operation supporting large-scale structural steel projects. Our team values safety, efficiency, quality workmanship, and strong communication while maintaining a fast-paced production environment.
What You'll Do:
- Safely move and transport large steel materials throughout the yard and production areas using forklifts and material handling equipment
- Load and unload steel products from trucks and trailers
- Support inventory management by conducting cycle counts and maintaining accurate material records
- Pick, stage, and prepare materials for production and outbound shipments
- Verify incoming and outgoing materials against shipping documentation
- Maintain an organized yard and warehouse environment
- Coordinate material movement with fabrication and production teams
- Follow all safety procedures and material handling best practices
- Assist with warehouse organization and process improvements

What You Need To Have:
- Previous experience working in a steel fabrication, steel manufacturing, or structural steel environment
- Experience operating forklifts around large steel products and materials
- Ability to safely handle and move long steel beams and heavy materials
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read shipping documents, packing slips, and inventory records
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
The Musts:
- Steel fabrication experience is required
- Warehouse-only experience will not be considered
- Experience moving large steel beams using forklifts
- Ability to lift, move, and work around heavy materials safely
- Knowledge of warehouse and yard safety procedures
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred:
- 5+ years of material handling experience
- Current Forklift Certification
- Experience operating:
- Caterpillar DP70 Forklift
- Caterpillar DP90 Forklift
- Drexel Sideloader
- Experience with inventory control and warehouse management systems
- Manufacturing or fabrication facility experience
