Krakow-based opportunity with hybrid work model. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be working for our client, a strategic leader in banking transformation. You will play a pivotal role in modernizing a cloud-native Azure architecture, supporting enterprise data flows, reporting, and analytics to enable smarter, faster decision-making. Your main responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and related Azure services. Develop and upgrade legacy ETL/ELT processes, including SSIS, migrating them seamlessly to the cloud environment. Build and operate both batch and near-real-time/streaming data workflows to support dynamic business needs. Design and evolve Data Warehouse and Data Lake architectures, applying best practices in dimensional modeling. Optimize, manage, and tune MS SQL Server / Azure SQL databases for maximum reliability and performance. Support and modernize reporting and integration stacks such as SSRS and Crystal Reports, integrating data from APIs, files, and secure sources. Collaborate closely with backend teams (.NET/API) to ensure reliable, secure data flows and integrations. Contribute to solution and data architecture design, producing high-quality Solution Design Documentation (SDD). Ensure data quality, governance, and security compliance aligned with banking and regulatory standards. Support Power BI data models, refresh strategies, and optimize performance for analytics insights. You're ideal for this role if you have: 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. Hands-on expertise with MS SQL Server / Azure SQL. Proven experience designing, building, and migrating ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory and SSIS. Experience supporting and modernizing reporting solutions with SSRS and Crystal Reports. Practical experience with Azure Data Lake / ADLS Gen2. Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehouse concepts. Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, performance tuning, and optimization. Ability to design end-to-end data solutions, document architecture, and contribute to SDD. Experience building enterprise-scale data pipelines for batch and streaming scenarios. Focus on data quality, governance, and security, ensuring compliance with banking standards. Excellent collaboration skills when working with backend teams, stakeholders, and multiple data sources. Familiarity with Power BI data models, refresh strategies, and performance tuning. It is a strong plus if you have: Experience with Azure Databricks and Apache Spark. Background migrating legacy ETL/reporting to the cloud. Knowledge of the .NET ecosystem and API integrations. Experience with secure data sources (CyberArk, SFTP, encrypted files). Streaming or near-real-time data processing expertise. CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep). Cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
