To contribute to the growth, they are expanding the ecology team, and are searching for a Senior Ecologist to support on project delivery.
 
The Role

As a member of the Ecology Division you will be required to undertake a combination of office and site-based work, supporting UK-wide delivery of development schemes for a range of public and private sector Clients. Job Description
 
I am looking for a highly ambitious, self-governing individual to join their team to provide high quality ecological services.
 
You would work out of the Manchester office, however would be expected to work throughout the UK on a variety of projects.
 
The successful individual will be able to:
 
路Undertake Ecological surveys, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (Phase 1 Habitat Survey/ UKHab) and Protected Species Surveys on complex sites, in line with appropriate guidance.
路Independently produce a variety of ecological reports including PEA, EcIA, protected species reports, biodiversity metric calculations, HRA screening assessments, management plans and method statements to a high standard and in line with best practice guidance.
路Quality control reports ensuring a high standard of work across the team.
路Obtain Natural England Licences (bats and/or water vole is desirable) and be able to undertake and implement appropriate mitigation.
路Undertake management responsibilities in line with company structure. Act as mentor for Junior members of the team.
路Manage projects and advise clients appropriately at all stages of the planning process.
路Work alongside the other disciplines.
路Represent the company at networking events and industry social events.
路Develop relationships with clients, as well as win new work for the company.
Qualifications and experience required include:
路Relevant undergraduate degree or higher.
路Full member of CIEEM (or be in a position to obtain).
路Experience working within consultancy is essential.
路Proven track record of successful delivery of projects, including examples of project management.
路Botanical skills equivalent to a FISC level 4 or above would be highly desirable.
In addition to the above, Senior Ecologists will:
路Act as a licensed ecologist on European Protected Species Licenses
路Actively pursue new avenues of work.
路Be a technical expert in their specialty.
路Archive FISC assessment level 4 or higher.
路Work as part of the wider company to bring forward new initiatives.
