We’re recruiting for an experienced HVAC Technical Manager to join a growing projects division, taking full ownership of HVAC projects from design through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
This is a senior, hands-on role leading technical design, project delivery, and commercial performance across a range of HVAC systems including VRF/VRV, heat pumps, AHUs, ventilation, and wider building services systems.
This position would suit a Mechanical Project Manager, HVAC Design Manager, or Senior HVAC Engineer looking to step into a leadership role.
HVAC Design & Technical Leadership
Lead site surveys, project scoping, and client requirement capture
Carry out or validate heat loss, heat gain, and ventilation calculations
Design and define HVAC systems including VRF, heat pumps, AHUs, and ventilation
Select equipment based on efficiency, compliance, and lifecycle performance
Identify and mitigate technical risks early
Project & Commercial Management
Manage HVAC projects from award through to completion
Control budgets, variations, and cost forecasts
Ensure delivery aligns with design intent and client expectations
Lead value engineering and commercial discussions
Installation & Delivery
Oversee site teams, supervisors, and subcontractors
Ensure compliance with RAMS, health & safety, and industry standards
Monitor programme delivery and implement corrective actions
Witness commissioning and performance testing
Client & Stakeholder Management
Act as the key technical contact for clients and consultants
Lead design reviews, progress meetings, and technical workshops
Support tenders and pre-construction phases
Essential
HNC, HND, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or HVAC
Strong background in HVAC projects (design and delivery)
Experience with commercial HVAC installations
Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards
CSCS Card (Manager or equivalent)
Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
CEng or IEng (or working towards)
Experience with VRF/VRV, chillers, heat pumps, AHUs, and BMS systems
SMSTS or IOSH
Exposure to energy-efficient or low-carbon HVAC solutions
