Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses (RNs) to support a hospital-based emergency department in Hartford, Connecticut. This role is designed for nurses who thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity environments and are confident delivering rapid, life-saving care across diverse patient populations.
Position Overview
This is a frontline emergency nursing role focused on triage, rapid assessment, and critical intervention for patients presenting with acute illness, trauma, and emergent conditions.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform triage and prioritize patients based on acuity
- Conduct rapid, focused patient assessments
- Initiate and manage emergency care plans
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency treatments
- Assist with trauma resuscitation and critical care procedures
- Monitor patient condition and respond to changes in real time
- Operate emergency equipment (defibrillators, ventilators, etc.)
- Prepare patients for diagnostic testing, procedures, or admission
- Collaborate with physicians, EMS, and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide patient and family education
- Document all care accurately within EMR systems
Patient Population
- All ages (pediatric through geriatric)
- Acute medical emergencies (cardiac, respiratory, neurological)
- Trauma and injury cases
- Behavioral health presentations
Schedule & Environment
- Hospital-based emergency department
- Fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting
- Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Required Qualifications
- Active Connecticut RN license (or compact eligibility if applicable)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- BLS certification (AHA)
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification (or willingness to obtain within required timeframe)
- Minimum 1–2 years of emergency room or acute care experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- TNCC certification
- ENPC certification
- Experience in high-volume or trauma-level emergency departments
