About the Role

We’re looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil at a welcoming, community-focused primary school in Downend. It’s mornings only, giving you the chance to make a real impact and still have your afternoons free.

What your mornings will look like

You’ll be the go-to person for one child who needs that extra bit of support to settle, engage and enjoy their learning.

Think:

  • Providing 1:1 support in the classroom
  • Helping with focus, routines and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with the class teacher to keep things consistent
  • Celebrating the small wins that make a big difference

This is a school where relationships matter. Staff know their pupils well, and support staff are a big part of that story.

What we’re looking for

You’re calm, patient and know how to meet children where they are, not where a timetable says they should be.

You’ll need:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally with SEND
  • A nurturing, adaptable approach
  • Confidence working on a 1:1 basis
  • The ability to build trust and positive relationships

The essentials

  • Monday to Friday availability (8:30am – 12:30pm)
  • Enhanced child-only DBS on the update service, or happy to apply

Why this role works

  • Perfect if you want part-time, consistent hours
  • A supportive school that values its support staff
  • A chance to genuinely change a child’s school experience, every day

A little extra from us

  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella faff
  • Free CPD, including SEND training
  • A consultant who keeps things simple and actually listens
