About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a proactive and resilient Behaviour Support Worker to join a supportive and inclusive school in the Harrogate area on a long-term basis. This full-time position is due to start in September, with shortlisting currently underway. The school is committed to providing a structured and nurturing environment where pupils are supported to overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive academic, social and emotional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting pupils who display challenging behaviour and helping them engage positively in learning
• Implementing behaviour support plans and promoting positive behaviour strategies across the school day
• Working with individual pupils and small groups to develop social skills, emotional resilience and self-regulation
• Collaborating with teachers, pastoral teams and parents to support pupil progress and wellbeing
Pre-requisites:
• Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, youth work, support work or a related field
• Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural, social or emotional needs
• Strong understanding of behaviour management, de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Two recent education or school-based references
