Children's SW - Assessment Team - London Borough of Havering

The London Borough of Havering is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work Assessment Team. This vital role involves working collaboratively to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in our community. You will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, developing care plans, and ensuring that the best interests of children are at the forefront of all decision-making processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
• Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with families and multi-agency partners.
• Providing support and guidance to children and their families, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
• Participating in regular supervision and team meetings to ensure best practices are upheld.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

• A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).
• Current registration with Social Work England.
• Experience in children’s social work, particularly in assessment and safeguarding.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
