About the Role
Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading O&M provider in the energy sector to recruit an Engineering and Maintenance Manager for its combined heat and power plant in Seascale, Cumbria. This role is critical for ensuring that engineering activities are delivered safely, compliantly, and efficiently. The Engineering and Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance strategies, technical standards, and engineering procedures, guaranteeing the department performs optimally. You will play a pivotal role in supporting major maintenance events and responding to plant incidents. Managing and developing the technical team, you will set objectives and monitor performance to align with the organization’s goals.
As part of your responsibilities, you will also control engineering budgets and ensure that all engineering work aligns with the Annual Operating Plan. The role demands strong technical guidance on complex issues, contributing to continual site improvements and maintaining site CMMS and engineering documentation. Furthermore, you will deputize for the Plant Manager as part of your managerial duties, thus requiring a high level of leadership skills and confidence.
To qualify, you should hold a degree in an engineering discipline or possess equivalent experience. Ideal candidates will have senior leadership experience in a continuous process environment, alongside a strong familiarity with engineering risk, asset integrity, ATEX/DSEAR, and compliance requirements. Your experience managing budgets and technical standards will be key in ensuring the successful maintenance of plant operations.
