Overview
We are now hiring a Medical Assistant in Clinton Township, MI. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity supporting a family medicine setting. We are seeking a dependable, communicative, self-starter with strong clinical support skills and experience in an internal medicine or family medicine environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient screening following approved clinical protocols
- Escort patients to exam rooms and prep them for examination, treatment, or procedures
- Obtain vital signs, patient history, and visit details in the electronic health record
- Assist with exams, procedures, and treatments according to provider direction
- Administer and document oral and injectable medications and immunizations as ordered
- Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations
- Handle patient communication through phone calls, messages, and portal requests
- Enter medication, lab, radiology, refill, and referral orders
- Collect and process specimens
- Perform CLIA-waived testing, EKGs, respiratory testing, and phlebotomy as needed
- Schedule appointments and outpatient procedures
- Assist with insurance pre-authorizations and referral coordination
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, equipment, and infection-control standards
