About the role: Justteachers is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH provision in the Wakefield area on a long-term basis. This full-time position is due to start in September , with shortlisting currently underway. The school provides a supportive and structured environment for pupils with SEMH , helping them to develop confidence, resilience and succeed both academically and personally Key Responsibilities: • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to access learning and engage positively in classroom activities • Assisting with the delivery of targeted interventions and personalised support plans • Promoting positive behaviour and implementing emotional regulation and de-escalation strategies • Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams and other professionals to support pupil wellbeing and progress Pre-requisites: • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, youth work, support work or a related field • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs • Strong understanding of behaviour management, emotional regulation and restorative approaches • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff • Two recent education or school-based references
