Ambient Recruiting is partnered with a client in Owosso looking for a member to join their 1st shift general labor department. General Labor is responsible for loading and unloading racks from the paint line including maintaining a clean work environment per safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload racks from the paint line.
- Maintain and clean the Paint booth hand-spraying robot, ensuring spray nozzles, arms, and sensors are free of overspray and debris.
- Remove overspray and sludge buildup from booth equipment, grates, and water curtains or dry filter systems.
- Safely remove, replace, and dispose of filters, liners, masking, and booth materials according to safety and environmental protocols.
- Complete routine inspections of the booth and robotic sprayer, reporting any maintenance or repair needs.
- Document all cleaning tasks and complete preventive maintenance logs.
- Work closely with paint and maintenance teams to schedule booth cleaning with minimal disruption to production.
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) when cleaning around powered equipment.
- Wear proper PPE (respirator, Tyvek suit, gloves, goggles, etc.) during cleaning and chemical handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in industrial or automotive paint environments is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to follow written instructions, safety protocols, and MSDS guidelines.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and around robotic equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to paint fumes, solvents, dust, and loud equipment.
- Regular lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, crouching, and use of ladders or lifts.
- Use of PPE is required at all times in the paint booth area.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working around industrial painting robots.
- Familiarity with booth airflow systems, dry/wet scrubbers, and paint waste disposal procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
