About the Role
We are seeking senior/staff frontend engineers for our software team to build our fleet management platform. This tool provides customers and partners with real-time visibility into and control over our AV fleet - enabling safe, efficient, and responsive operations in middle-mile logistics. You'll play a key role in shaping intuitive, high-performance user interfaces that make complex systems simple and actionable.
This role is onsite 5 days a week at our Mountain View, CA office!
What you'll do
Design, develop, and maintain responsive, performant web applications using React and TypeScript.
Build reusable UI components and design systems, translating Figma designs into production-ready Storybook components.
Optimize front-end performance across browsers and devices, with special focus on map-based views and data-heavy dashboards (e.g., telemetry, analytics).
Collaborate with backend, platform, and infrastructure teams to ensure frontend reliability, scalability, and observability.
Work closely with PMs and designers to turn user needs into technical execution plans.
Make strategic decisions on frameworks, tooling, and architecture to ensure long-term code quality and maintainability.
Champion frontend engineering best practices in performance, accessibility, and security.
Own and implement frontend test coverage using unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress).
Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and product design sessions to improve quality and cross-functional alignment.
Drive continuous improvement in developer experience, UI consistency, and system responsiveness.
What we're looking for
6+ years of professional experience building web applications with React and TypeScript.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Deep understanding of state management, component-driven architecture, and modern frontend design patterns.
Experience working with real-time data (e.g., WebSockets, polling) and interactive mapping libraries like Mapbox, Google Maps, or Leaflet.
Familiarity with integrating APIs (REST and GraphQL) and backend services.
Strong instincts for UI/UX and the ability to work closely with design and product teams to build intuitive interfaces.
Comfortable working in CI/CD, Agile, and cross-functional environments.
Experience with performance monitoring tools (e.g., Sentry, Datadog).
Exposure to logistics, fleet management, or telematics platforms is a plus.
Experience working in startups or fast-moving, collaborative engineering teams is highly valued.
