Live-in Housekeeper/Carer in Hampstead

Our private clients are seeking an experienced Live-in Housekeeper/Carer to support an elderly couple living in a newly built retirement development in Hampstead. This is a varied role combining high standards of housekeeping with practical care, companionship and day-to-day support. Whilst professional carers attend two mornings per week and throughout the weekends, the successful candidate will play an important role in assisting the principals with aspects of their daily routine, supporting their independence and ensuring their comfort and wellbeing as well as full responsibility for all housekeeping/ upkeep of the residence. 

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 9:00pm

The role includes downtime during quieter periods of the day, together with assisting the principals with their evening routine and settling them for bed each weekday evening.

Weekends are generally off; however, the successful candidate will be expected to remain living at the residence overnight. Should they wish to be away for a weekend, this can be accommodated with reasonable notice to allow alternative care arrangements to be made.

Duties will include

• Full housekeeping and cleaning to a high standard
• Laundry and ironing
• Preparing fresh breakfast, lunch and dinner each day
• Administering medication five times daily as instructed
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Assisting with aspects of the principals' daily routine and offering practical support throughout the day
• Providing light assistance with personal care where required
• Helping the principals with their evening routine and settling them for bed each weekday
• Monitoring the wellbeing of the principals and communicating any concerns appropriately
• Working closely with the professional carers to ensure seamless support and a harmonious household

The ideal candidate will be

An experienced Housekeeper/ Carer with previous experience supporting elderly principals within a private household. Candidates should be confident preparing fresh, home-cooked meals, maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and administering medication. They will be compassionate, discreet and proactive, with the confidence to provide practical day-to-day support whilst working collaboratively with the wider care team.

Start date: August 2026 (to allow for a handover)

Accommodation: Private en-suite bedroom provided.

Salary: £50,000–£55,000 gross per annum, dependent on experience.

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
