The <strong><span style="color:#ed7d31">Telecom Electronic Technician II</span></strong> contributes to the safe and efficient operation of the railroad by managing essential communication systems and devices.</span></p><p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong><span style="color:black">This is a full-time</span></strong><span style="color:black"> <strong>(40hrs/wk)</strong> <strong>position, </strong>6 days a week (5 regular working days and one on-call day). Subject to on-call (24/6), overtime, alternate shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays. Shift assignments are governed by union agreement, typically based on seniority.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong><span style="color:black">Moderate travel is required</span></strong><span style="color:black">. While the work location is headquartered, there will be travel and work within the assigned seniority region at times for an extended time.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Training </strong>for this position is company-paid on-the-job and classroom training and will include travel to the BNSF Training Center.</span></p><p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><em><span style="color:#ed7d31">Key responsibilities may include:</span></em> </span></p><p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Installing, repairing, and maintaining</strong> various telecommunications equipment, including radios, digital microwave (MW), and radio frequency (RF) data link equipment. </span></p><p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Install, assemble, repair, adjust, test and maintain wired and wireless systems and devices</strong>, automatic equipment identification (AEI) systems, IP networks, VoIP, cameras, Radio Frequency (RF) communications, voice and data communications, front and end train devices, and soldering electrical/electronic components.</span></p><p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong><span style="color:black">Daily work</span></strong><span style="color:black"> <strong>is conducted in a safety sensitive environment</strong> where the working conditions can </span><strong><span style="color:#ed7c31">include diverse and extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet),</span></strong><span style="color:black"> walking and performing work on uneven surfaces, working around loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery. </span> </span></p><p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong><span style="color:black">At BNSF safety is one of our core values that guides us through everything we do. </span></strong><span style="color:black"> Our employees engage in safety conversations, through an approaching others mindset to help us achieve our tremendous potential.
