About the Role
Job Title: Commissioning Engineer (EC&I– Nuclear)
Location: Cumbria
Rate: £50 per hour (Inside IR35 – Umbrella)
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off rolling shift pattern
Role Overview
The Commissioning Engineer will support the delivery of nuclear CE&I systems through all phases of commissioning. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing commissioning activities, ensuring systems are tested, validated, and handed over safely and efficiently in line with project requirements and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out vendor test witnessing activities during factory acceptance tests (FAT) and works testing
Prepare plant commissioning test specifications and supporting documentation
Conduct early inspections of site installations to support efficient system handovers
Execute commissioning and testing activities throughout the IPC commissioning phase
Identify faults, troubleshoot issues, and propose and implement effective solutions
Organise and supervise Commissioning Technicians and associated support resources
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience in nuclear CE&I systems commissioning
Minimum qualification: HNC/HND in an Engineering-related discipline
Demonstrable experience within nuclear commissioning environments
Project management knowledge (APM membership preferred)
Strong capability in producing calculations using Microsoft Excel
IOSH Managing Safely certification
SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
ECS Supervisory Card relevant to trade
