About the Role
About the RoleWe are working with a primary school in Hastings, East Sussex, seeking a committed and resilient Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team on a daily supply/ad-hoc basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the early stages of pupils’ education within a dynamic and diverse school community.
The school has a strong focus on inclusion, pastoral care, and supporting pupils to reach their full potential. It is an environment where clear routines, consistency, and strong classroom practice are essential. The role would suit a confident and nurturing practitioner who can build positive relationships while maintaining firm and consistent expectations to support pupils’ development.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and structured lessons in line with the KS1 national curriculum
Create a calm, purposeful, and well-managed classroom environment
Support pupils with a range of learning and behavioural needs
Implement effective and consistent behaviour management strategies
Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching where necessary
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SEN staff, and senior leadership
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in Key Stage 1
Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
A patient, resilient, and consistent approach
Ability to engage and motivate pupils with varying needs
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Experience teaching in UK primary schools (KS1 and/or KS2)
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
