Trade Compliance Specialist

<p><strong>Job Overview:</strong><br /> We are seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist with a strong background in both import and export, with a heavier focus on the import side. The ideal candidate will have experience with customer screening, HTS classification, country of origin determination, and global customs, along with a solid understanding of export classification.</p> <p>Locations: Milpitas, CA | Bloomington, MN | WIlmington, MA | Tampa, FL</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Customer Screening/Due Diligence:</strong> Conduct screenings of customers in compliance with global trade regulations and ensure due diligence processes are in place for high-risk entities.</li> <li><strong>HTS Classification:</strong> Perform HTS classification for a wide range of products to ensure accurate tariff compliance and to optimize duty savings.</li> <li><strong>Country of Origin:</strong> Determine and verify the country of origin for products, ensuring compliance with trade laws and regulations.</li> <li><strong>Global Customs Experience:</strong> Apply knowledge of global customs procedures, regulations, and trade agreements to facilitate international trade operations.</li> <li><strong>Export Classification:</strong> While the focus is on import compliance, some experience with export classification and the ability to manage export documentation is preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications and Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must have prior experience in high-tech or highly regulated industries (e.g., Defense, Aerospace, Semiconductor). Candidates with a background in semiconductor industries are particularly preferred.</li> <li>Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Import Compliance, including HTS classification, country of origin determination, and global customs.</li> <li>Exposure to Export Classification is a plus but not mandatory.</li> <li>Experience in Customer Screening and Due Diligence related to trade compliance.</li> </ul> <ul> <li><strong>Industry Experience:</strong> Must come from a high-tech or highly regulated industry (Defense, Aerospace, Semiconductor industries are strongly preferred).</li> <li><strong>Skills: </strong>Proficiency in HTS classification, customer screening, global customs procedures, and country of origin determination.</li> <li><strong>Work Experience:</strong> 3+ years of experience in trade compliance or customs roles, with a focus on import compliance.</li> <li><strong>Education: </strong>A degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field is preferred.</li> </ul>
