About the Role
Due to our dynamic growth we are looking for a Senior Controlling Specialist - Workday Financial Management (m/f/d) who will support our team from ideally Munich, otherwise from within Germany.
BayWa r.e. is undertaking a major digital finance transformation program, including the implementation and support of Workday Financial Management across its multiple global entities.
You will be part of a collaborative team of in-house functional and technical experts, responsible for designing, rolling out and operating an ERP system template for our construction and services business entities. This senior role will serve as a valued Business Partner within the BayWa r.e. Group, working closely with management accounting and controlling teams and ensuring compliance with group-wide management accounting and controlling standards.
What you will do
You will design and coordinate the implementation of a management accounting and controlling template for Workday Financial Management
You will identify and suggest opportunities to enhance and improve current processes for internal cost allocation and performance management
You will define the data foundation for internal performance reports, such as contribution margin analysis, as well as for operational transfer pricing
You will drive options for variance analysis comparing actual against planned or standard performance
You will support the reporting needs of users by designing and testing custom reports
You will create comprehensive documentation outlining system configurations, workflows, and standard operating procedures
You will deliver training sessions and guidance to end users on the new system to ensure effective adoption and understanding
You will liaise between finance functions on r.e. Holding level, local finance and IT or vendor teams, facilitating communication and ensuring that system updates or enhancements are aligned with business needs and contribute to continuous improvement
You will ensure management accounting governance during regular business operations, periodic closing and reporting due dates
What you’ll need to succeed
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Over 5 years of post-qualification experience in a senior Controlling or FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) role or similar, implementing financial management systems in a multinational working environment
In-depth knowledge of cost allocation, contribution margin analysis, and cost control methods
Demonstrated ability to learn new cloud based, object-oriented financial management software and processes; familiarity with Workday Financial Management is a big plus
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and results-oriented approach
Ability to work with stakeholders across cultures and at all levels
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English and German - both written and spoken
Familiarity with project management and system support ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
