Job Description We’re looking for an intern to help optimize our security programming and investigative capabilities. This will be a tremendous opportunity for individuals interested in how security structure/systems can improve business functionality, safety and how we can integrate technology to improve employee safety. A Security Analyst Intern needs to possess strong analytical skills. They need the capacity to work with large amounts of information, extract relevant and draw logical conclusions. Possess a critical skill of being able to collaborate across departments, work well with vendors and security department customers. Work independently as needed and may require occasional travel in the region. Responsibilities Optimizing mapping/GIS systems to improve security response times and investigations Organizing and transforming information into comprehensible structures Using tools and techniques to visualize Information in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams, graphs, and presentations Preparing reports and presenting these to management or security contractors Identifying and recommend new ways to save money by streamlining business processes, analyzing budgets monthly, quarterly, and yearly invoices leading to better cost-effective paths Analyzing security monitoring systems for improvement opportunities Communicating with stakeholders to understand business requirements Other security related duties as assigned Assist with investigations into security incidents Develop creative and resource solutions to complex and sensitive issues. Qualifications Location: San Francisco Bay Area/Napa/wine region Working towards a bachelor’s degree in a related field to include but not limited to, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Business Administration or Technology fields. The ability to pay attention to detail when working with information to make accurate conclusions and predictions Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share findings with shareholders A solid understanding of data sources, data organization and storage IT and mapping skills/knowledge Knowledge of relevant social media, information, and research sites A person interested in security protocols and security systems Experience and Education/Training Requirements Typically, a candidate who is applying for a Security Analyst Intern position does not need any previous on-the-job experience, but they should be working towards a bachelor’s degree in a related field to include but not limited to, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Business Administration or Technology fields. Other related training certificates are also relevant. Applicants who have other security replated internship experience is a plus. Candidates can also expand upon their qualifications through professional courses at relevant institutions. The hourly compensation range for this role is: $21.00 - $32.00 This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor. For remote locations or positions open to multiple locations, the pay range may reflect several US geographic markets, including the lowest geographic market minimum to the highest geographic market maximum. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
