Plans, organizes, supervises, and helps with daily activities of non-pharmacist staff.</p><h4>Essential Functions of the Role</h4><ul><li>Supervises day-to-day activities to ensure efficient Pharmacy operations.</li><li>Reinforces and monitors performance expectations.</li><li>Ensures services are timely, accurate, effective, and cost-effective. Complies with established policies, procedures, and regulatory agencies.</li><li>Develops cooperative working relationships with Pharmacists, Nurses and other Medical staff.</li><li>Initiates medication error reports as necessary, provides input and follows up in a timely approach.</li><li>Effectively coordinates and administers policies and procedures. This includes selection, orientation, training, assignment, staffing, evaluation, discipline, and discharging employees. All actions comply with applicable employment regulations.</li><li>Regularly attends continuing education seminars provided by the department.</li><li>Helps management in preparation and communication of information to staff at mandatory staff meetings and as necessary.</li><li>Trains employees on their daily duties and coordinates staff education activities. Helps identify and provide opportunities for staff to develop necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.</li><li>May coordinate and administer special projects as assigned.</li></ul><h4>Key Success Factors</h4><ul><li>Experienced knowledge of Pharmacy Care modalities, terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, terminology, drug use and aseptic techniques, standards and equipment.</li><li>Knowledge of procedures and standards for the labeling and dispensing of prescription medications.</li><li>Must be able to read, write and follow instructions and flow chart protocols.</li><li>Ability to sort, check, count and verify numbers.</li><li>Ability to follow established safety, infection control, environmental and isolation practices and procedures at all times.</li><li>Excellent social skills required to interact effectively with patients and staff.</li><li>Ability to make tactical judgments on allocating and directing supervised employees' work using established guidelines, policies, and procedures.</li><li>Ability to make effective hiring and termination recommendations.</li><li>Ability to train, and evaluate performance of supervised staff.</li><li>General computer skills include Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling, payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.</li></ul><h4>Belonging Statement</h4><p>We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported.</p><p><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b></p><ul><li>EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent</li><li>EXPERIENCE - 3 Years of Experience</li><li>CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -</li></ul><p> Pharmacy Technician (PHT): Pharmacy Tech license through the TX Board of Pharmacy.</p>
