About the Role
Teaching Assistant – SEMH School (Horsham)
We are looking for a resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Horsham, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a highly rewarding role where you will make a real difference to pupils aged 7–19, including those with autism and additional needs.
The Role:
Supporting students with SEMH needs and autism on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Helping to deliver engaging, tailored learning activities
Managing and responding to challenging behaviour in a calm, consistent manner
Supporting students with emotional regulation and building positive relationships
Encouraging independence, confidence, and social development
Working closely with teachers and a wider support team to provide a structured and supportive environment
Key Details:
Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm
Pay: £106.87 per day
Working with students aged 7–19

Requirements:
A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
Experience with SEMH and/or autism is desirable but not essential
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
