The role
At MAG, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Service Operative apprentice is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for an organisation's computer systems, networks, and other technology-based equipment.
Our Service Operative Apprentice will also provide technical assistance to users, monitor network performance, and ensure security and data backup procedures are in place.
The goal of an ICT Service Operative is to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of an organization's technology infrastructure, and to provide effective support to users. The successful applicant will receive on-the-job training from experienced ICT Service Operatives and participate in structured learning sessions to gain the skills and knowledge needed to perform the role effectively.
Your Learning:
On completion of the apprenticeship, you will be awarded with a Level 3 Information Communication Technician Apprenticeship. Below are some of the things you can expect from this apprenticeship opportunity:
Install software upgrades
Test and evaluate system performance
Use system data to identify solutions
Escalate problems in line with procedures
Use basic scripting to execute tasks
Carry out routine system maintenance checks
Follow the necessary security procedures
What will make you successful in the role?
Successful candidates will possess:
Basic understanding of computer hardware and software, including things like operating systems, networks, and security
Effective communication and team working skills, with the ability to work across all levels our business and maintain a strong customer/client focus.
Be able to diagnose and solve technical problems and be able to explain technical issues to non-technical people
Detail-oriented and focused on quality and customer satisfaction and be willing to continuously learn and improve your skills with new technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
English. Maths & ICT GCSEs grades 9-4
A Levels (or equivalent) grades A-C/Pass, preferably in Computer or Technology related subjects
Must live in England and have the right to work in the UK (Government funding requirement)
Must be able to work shift work and travel to and from Manchester airport outside normal working hours.
