Our client is a leading UK consultancy with a strong track record of delivering work across the Ministry of Defence, central government, and the wider public sector. They work closely with clients as trusted advisors, guiding them through complex procurement exercises and commercial negotiations.
As a Procurement & Transformation Consultant, you will support Defence and Public Sector clients to design and deliver robust procurement and commercial solutions that achieve value for money, enable transformation, and deliver lasting outcomes. You will work across the full procurement lifecycle, combining analytical rigour with practical delivery and strong stakeholder engagement.
Working Patterns: 2 ā 3 Days on site in their locations, but candidates must be prepared to travel up to 4 days per week UK wide if required.
Key responsibilities
Develop and deliver procurement and commercial strategies, providing robust, evidence-based options to inform client decisions on commercial structures, contract packaging, pricing and payment models, incentives, routes to market, and evaluation approaches.
Lead and support the production of key procurement documentation, including PQQs, ITNs/ITPDs, Heads of Terms, and contractual agreements.
Undertake detailed analysis to generate insights, build a strong evidence base, and support solution design and organisational transformation.
Support Defence and Public Sector clients through complex commercial negotiations with suppliers.
Design and implement contract management frameworks that enable clients to realise and sustain value from their commercial arrangements.
Build trusted relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal multi-disciplinary teams, sharing knowledge and best practice to deliver a joined-up client experience.

Skills & experience
Experience working in complex procurement environments, ideally within Defence and/or the wider public sector, delivering strategic outcomes and value for money.
A strong personal drive to create positive societal impact through strategic thinking, practical problem-solving, and innovative approaches.
Sound knowledge of relevant procurement legislation, policy, and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and confidently.
Strong project and workstream management capability, delivering high-quality, compliant outputs to demanding deadlines.
Ability to lead discrete workstreams independently while contributing effectively to wider team objectives.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environments.
A collaborative, inclusive team player who works effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Proven ability to build and sustain strong professional relationships to achieve shared outcomes.
