The STEM Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, hands-on instruction for students. Rooted in the mission of Catholic education, the teacher will inspire intellectual, physical, and spiritual development while creating a dynamic lab environment where curiosity and discovery thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction and Curriculum:

  • Design and implement an age-appropriate, standards-based STEM curriculum (including coding, robotics, and engineering challenges) for grades K-8.
  • Encourage the "Four Cs" of STEM: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
  • Ensure lessons are highly interactive and utilize project-based learning and hands-on experimentation.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate STEM concepts across other academic subjects.


Catholic Identity and Faith Integration:

  • Incorporate Catholic values into STEM instruction, emphasizing the harmony between faith and reason.

  • Teach and model stewardship, ethics, and respect for creation.

  • Participate in school liturgies, prayer, and broader faith-based community activities.


Technology and Classroom Management:

  • Maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning environment appropriate for elementary and middle school students.

  • Introduce students to responsible digital citizenship, internet safety, and foundational computer skills.

  • Maintain STEM lab equipment, ensuring the safe use of all materials.


Qualifications and Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, a STEM-related field (Science, Math, Engineering, Computer Science), or equivalent.

  • Certification: Valid State Teaching Certification (or ability to obtain one).

  • Faith & Character: Practicing Catholic in good standing is highly preferred; candidate must respect and support the teachings of the Catholic Church.

  • Skills: Strong classroom management, technical proficiency, and a passion for working with young learners
