<p>Job Description:<br /> Role: SAP S/4HANA Consultant<br /> Location: Houston, TX (5 days on-site required)<br /> Duration: 6 Months (extension possible based on program needs)<br /> Industry: Public Sector / Transit Authority<br /> Reporting To Engagement Lead; functional alignment with client.<br /> <br /> Position Summary:<br /> Position SAP MM / FICO Consultant with Public Sector Grants Management<br /> Location Houston, TX —(5 days onsite presence required; cadence aligned to program)<br /> <br /> Project Overview<br /> The client is embarking on its SAP S/4HANA transformation journey, migrating from a legacy SAP ECC landscape that includes<br /> SAP SRM. The new S/4HANA solution will consolidate procurement functionality into S/4HANA Sourcing &amp; Procurement,<br /> integrated with SAP Ariba for sourcing, contracts, and supplier collaboration. A core part of the program is the modernization<br /> of Public Sector Grants Management to support the agency’s federal and state grant lifecycle, including FTA (Federal Transit<br /> Administration) funding.<br /> Client is seeking an experienced SAP MM / FICO Consultant with Public Sector Grants Management expertise to join the<br /> implementation team. The consultant will lead functional design, configuration, and delivery across procurement, finance,<br /> controlling, and grants management workstreams, partnering closely with the client and the GSI prime.<br /> <br /> Key Responsibilities:<br /> Functional Design &amp; Configuration<br /> • Lead design and configuration of SAP MM in S/4HANA: Materials Management, Procurement, Inventory<br /> Management, Logistics Invoice Verification, and Source Determination.<br /> • Configure SAP FICO across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, new Asset Accounting (FI-AA),<br /> Bank Accounting, and Controlling (CCA, PCA, Internal Orders, Product Costing where applicable).<br /> • Configure Public Sector Management – Grants Management (PSM-GM) and the integration with Funds Management<br /> (FM), Funds Reservation, and Budget Control System (BCS).<br /> • Design grant master data, sponsored programs, sponsored classes, budget structures, billing rules, and revenue<br /> recognition aligned with federal grant compliance (FTA, Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200).<br /> SRM-to-S/4HANA Transition<br /> • Lead functional analysis and process mapping of legacy SAP SRM scenarios (shopping carts, contracts, RFx, supplier<br /> collaboration) into the target S/4HANA Sourcing &amp; Procurement and SAP Ariba footprint.<br /> • Conduct fit-gap analysis, identify Clean Core opportunities, and document target-state process flows.<br /> • Define the strategy for catalog content, contract management, and operational procurement flows in the post-SRM<br /> landscape.<br /> Ariba Integration<br /> • Define and validate integration scenarios between S/4HANA and SAP Ariba (Sourcing, Contracts, Buying &amp; Invoicing,<br /> Ariba Network) via Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG) or SAP Integration Suite.<br /> • Partner with integration and technical teams on iFlow design, error handling, and reconciliation across PO, GR,<br /> invoice, and payment flows.<br /> • Drive end-to-end testing of procure-to-pay scenarios between S/4HANA and Ariba.<br /> Project Delivery<br /> • Conduct discovery and design workshops with business stakeholders; document business requirements and produce<br /> functional specifications.<br /> • Author configuration rationale documents (CRDs), functional specifications (FSDs), test scripts, cutover plans, and<br /> hypercare runbooks.<br /> • Support data migration activities including Business Partner conversion, master data harmonization, and open<br /> document migration (open POs, open invoices, open grants, open commitments).<br /> • Lead UAT facilitation, training enablement, and hypercare support post go-live.<br /> <br /> Required Qualifications:<br /> Experience:<br /> • 10+ years of total SAP consulting experience, including at least 2 full-lifecycle SAP implementations and at least 1<br /> S/4HANA implementation (Greenfield, Brownfield, or Selective Data Transition).<br /> • Hands-on configuration experience across SAP MM and SAP FICO in both ECC and S/4HANA environments.<br /> • Minimum 3+ years of experience with SAP Public Sector Management – Grants Management (PSM-GM) and Funds<br /> Management (FM).<br /> • Prior experience with SAP SRM (Classic, Extended Classic, or Standalone) and demonstrated experience with SRM-to-<br /> S/4HANA or SRM-to-Ariba transitions.<br /> • Demonstrated experience with SAP Ariba integration to S/4HANA (Sourcing, Contracts, Buying &amp; Invoicing, Network).<br /> • Public sector, transit, or transportation industry experience strongly preferred.<br /> <br /> Functional &amp; Technical Skills<br /> • Strong working knowledge of S/4HANA simplifications: Business Partner, ACDOCA Universal Journal, simplified<br /> procurement, new Asset Accounting, Material Ledger.<br /> • Familiarity with federal grant lifecycle (pre-award, award, post-award, closeout), Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200, and<br /> FTA grant programs (e.g., Section 5307, 5337, 5339).<br /> • Strong cross-module integration knowledge: MM ↔ FI, MM ↔ CO, GM ↔ FM ↔ FI.<br /> • Familiarity with Fiori applications for procurement, finance, and grants management.<br /> • Working knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and Agile/Scrum delivery.<br /> <br /> Soft Skills<br /> • Strong workshop facilitation, requirement elicitation, and stakeholder communication.<br /> • Comfortable operating in GSI-led delivery environments with multiple partners.<br /> • Self-directed, accountable, and comfortable in fast-paced consulting engagements with shifting priorities.<br /> <br /> Preferred Qualification:<br /> • SAP certifications in S/4HANA Sourcing &amp;
