GSL Education London Branch are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pastoral Support Assistant to join a welcoming co-educational secondary school and Sixth Form in Hackney. As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will play a key role in creating a positive and supportive school environment. Responsibilities of a Pastoral Support Assistant:
Provide day-to-day pastoral care and emotional support to students
Support students with behaviour management and promote positive conduct
Work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to monitor student wellbeing
Assist in managing attendance and punctuality issues
Build strong relationships with students, parents, and carers
Support students facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges
Help implement school policies related to behaviour and safeguarding
Maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents
Requirements for a Pastoral Support Assistant:
Previous experience working as a Pastoral Support Assistant or in a similar role
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build trust and rapport with young people
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Good organisational and record-keeping skills
A genuine passion for supporting students’ wellbeing and development
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
