Senior DevOps Engineer

<p>We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our BUX team in Amsterdam.</p><p>Engineering is at the heart of BUX. The BUX DevOps team is a group of cross-functional experts with a <strong>deep understanding of software development, infrastructure management, and security</strong>. We work closely with other development teams to understand their needs and build a platform that meets those needs. We go by a small set of easy design principles which include:</p><ul><li><p>Solutions that are built in code, our solutions are repeatable and built for the future</p></li><li><p>We use industry-standard tools and technologies where we can</p></li><li><p>We build to scale and build to fail</p></li></ul><h4><strong>What you will do</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Own, maintain, and improve the critical infrastructure behind BUX, including several GKE clusters, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and MySQL clusters</p></li><li><p>Introduce more automation, audit, and access control</p></li><li><p>Improve infrastructure and application security</p></li><li><p>Own and maintain our monitoring and alerting system</p></li><li><p>Facilitate and adhere to DevOps practices, such as Infrastructure as Code, and work on improving the developers' experience</p></li></ul><h4><strong>What you need to succeed</strong></h4><p>We are looking for you if:</p><ul><li><p>You are a skilled <strong>DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer</strong> with hands-on experience managing production systems</p></li><li><p>You have hands-on, production experience with <strong>Terraform</strong>, <strong>Kubernetes</strong>, and <strong>Kafka</strong></p></li><li><p>You have a strong engineering mindset and passion for building and operating reliable infrastructure at scale</p></li><li><p>You have production experience with a major cloud platform (GCP or AWS)</p></li><li><p>You have experience with CI/CD tools (Like Docker, Helm, and Github Actions)</p></li><li><p>You want to work in an environment that allows you to grow both as a person and as a professional</p></li><li><p>You have strong communication skills and can work with various internal stakeholders</p></li><li><p>You are a team-player</p></li></ul><p>Nice-to-have but not required:</p><ul><li><p>Experience with Elasticsearch, MySQL</p></li><li><p>Experience operating JVM-based applications</p></li></ul><h4><strong>Why will you enjoy working at BUX as a DevOps Engineer?</strong></h4><ul><li><p>You surround yourself with a team of intelligent peers with whom you will get to build exciting new features</p></li><li><p>You are part of a company where your ideas are valued</p></li><li><p>Continuous learning and sharing expertise drive us.
