Job Overview
Hubbell Incorporated is seeking an Innovation Project Manager to support our electrical and utility business segments in advancing next‑generation engineering and innovation capabilities. This high‑visibility role reports to the Director of Technology Management within the Office of the CTO and plays a critical part in driving tool modernization, strengthening engineering processes, and enabling teams across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong initiative, technical curiosity, and a passion for enabling innovation. You will work hands‑on with engineers, product leaders, and cross‑functional partners to deliver impactful tools, improvements, and workflows that accelerate development and enhance collaboration.
A Day In The Life
Project Management & Execution
Lead innovation tool and platform projects from concept through successful delivery.
Define project objectives, scope, schedules, and resource needs.
Communicate project updates, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.Drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, and continuous project improvement.
Engineering Tools Ownership & Strategy
Act as the primary owner of selected engineering and innovation tools used across
Hubbell’s product development ecosystem.
Build and maintain multi‑year product roadmaps aligned with enterprise strategy.
Own development schedules, coordinating with engineering, IT, and external vendors.
Manage and prioritize the tool improvement backlog.
Evaluate tool adoption, user experience, performance, and capability gaps.
Engineering Tools Support
Serve as the expert for engineering tool support, troubleshooting, and training.
Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues.
Ensure engineering teams are equipped to use tools effectively.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Requirements Development
Partner with engineers, product managers, designers, and senior leaders.
Facilitate structured stakeholder feedback.
Translate needs into requirements.
Maintain alignment across functions.
Process Optimization & Innovation Enablement
Identify and solve process inefficiencies.
Implement scalable process improvements.
Promote best practices and a culture of innovation
What will help you thrive in this role?
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
Experience managing technical or innovation‑focused projects.
Familiarity with engineering tools such as CAD, simulation platforms, or PM systems.
Experience with roadmaps, schedules, and backlogs.
Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma (preferred).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
