Science SEMH Teacher - Salford

About the role:

Justteachers is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist secondary SEMH setting in Salford to cover on a long-term basis. The full-time role is due to start in September 2026 and would be temp to perm for the right candidate.

The setting provides key support for 11 – 18 year-old students with behavioural needs, with a focus on tailoring learning to those with additional needs. They focus on a well-rounded curriculum with a focus on wellbeing, and have a varied extra-curricular timetable to encourage student engagement throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver dynamic and differentiated Science lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEMH challenges.
• Build positive, trusting relationships and manage behaviour effectively through consistent, trauma-informed approaches.
• Maintain high expectations for both learning and conduct, fostering a safe, inspiring, and structured classroom environment.

Pre-requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Proven experience teaching children with SEMH needs or in an alternative provision setting is desirable.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour support strategies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Two education or school-based references.
