Rhino Medical is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner (NP) for an ongoing locum tenens assignment supporting outpatient neuro-oncology care in a prominent academic setting in San Francisco, California. The provider will deliver adult outpatient services, including performing lumbar punctures and shunt checks and reprograms if qualified, working a consistent full-time schedule.

Practice Environment
This outpatient department specializes in neuro-oncology care for adult patients within an academic hospital. Providers work alongside experienced RNs, practice coordinators, and attending physicians, practicing in a technologically advanced environment designed to support outpatient visits, infusion procedures, and neuro-oncology assessments.

Schedule & Coverage

  • 5x8-hour shifts weekly (08:00–16:30)
  • Full-time outpatient schedule in a teaching hospital setting

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Deliver outpatient neuro-oncology care for adult patients
  • Perform lumbar punctures if qualified and skilled
  • Conduct shunt checks and reprograms as needed and qualified
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and document within electronic medical records

Candidate Requirements

  • California professional license (no licensure options for PAs or NPs at this time)
  • CA DEA registration with schedule 2/2n
  • Board certification: A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC
  • AHA BLS certification
  • Minimum of experience in adult neuro-oncology, adult oncology, infusion center, or neurosurgery (both inpatient and outpatient considered)
  • Credentialing approximately 60 days
