To strengthen our Utilities Engineering team, we’re looking for a Systems & Control Engineer Utilities who thrives at the intersection of engineering, data, networks, and mission‑critical IT. Your Mission You will take end‑to‑end ownership of our process‑monitoring ecosystem with a special focus on the networks and data flows that connect all utility equipment to our monitoring platforms. From sensor reliability and network architecture to dashboarding, alarm philosophy, and advanced analytics — you ensure that our utility systems are continuously visible, secure, and performing flawlessly. You will help shape monitoring strategy, strengthen our OT/IT boundary, and drive secure and robust data integration across platforms. You’ll work closely with operations, automation, cybersecurity, and our 24/7 control room to take monitoring to the next level. What You’ll Work On Optimizing and expanding the monitoring of essential utility systems (HVAC, UPW, thermal, chemical, and gas installations). Managing a landscape of 50,000+ sensors across multiple industrial networks. Strengthening the OT/IT integration, including data routing, network segmentation, and secure interfaces with central monitoring systems. Improving alarm logic, event analysis, signal behavior, and predictive insights. Ensuring cyber‑secure monitoring, aligned with NXP’s high standards. Supporting the 24/7 control room with accurate, high‑value data for fast detection and smart decision‑making. Contributing to digital initiatives such as anomaly detection, smart monitoring, and reliability engineering. Your profile A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field. Experience with process monitoring, industrial networks, data acquisition, or critical utility systems. Understanding of OT/IT interfaces, cybersecurity in industrial environments, and networked sensor systems. Affinity with dashboards, alarm behavior, system reliability, and data-driven decision-making. A proactive mindset focused on quality, robustness, and continuous improvement. Contract: This is a full-time position with a permanent contract. However, we are open to discuss a part-time opportunity (between 32 and 38 hours) as well.
