Location: Wiveliscombe, Somerset (travel across the South West with occasional overnight stays)
Salary: £32,500–£45,000 DOE + overtime (approximately 1 in 5 weeks)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm

With a strong reputation across commercial and public sectors, WCI Group is expanding its engineering team and seeking a skilled, motivated Service Engineer to join their growing operation.

The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will independently carry out planned and reactive maintenance, commissioning and refurbishment of sewage and water-related systems. You will work directly with customers on-site, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently and in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain and fault-find on sewage treatment systems and pump stations
• Work with pumps, motors, valves, pipework and associated mechanical components
• Carry out basic electrical diagnostics and fault finding
• Conduct system checks including field tests, smoke testing and sampling
• Provide clear, timely updates to clients
• Complete all documentation to a high standard
• Travel across the South West, including occasional overnight stays (typically around five nights per quarter)
Systems you may work on
Pumping stations, sewage treatment plants, septic tanks, potable water systems, rainwater harvesting units and related equipment.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
• Knowledge of wastewater products, including sewage treatment systems and pump stations
• Strong understanding of pumps, motors, pipework, valves and mechanical systems
• Basic electrical skills, including fault finding
• Previous experience in a similar Service Engineer role (water industry preferred, but mechanical/electrical backgrounds also considered)
• Valid UK driving licence
• Self-motivated, punctual and well organised
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively to the wider team
• Willingness to travel across the South West and stay away when required
Desirable
• Experience within sewage, wastewater or water treatment
• CSCS card or confined space certification
• Familiarity with relevant regulations (training can be provided)
