HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER About the Opportunity A well-established wine client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to own all HR and payroll functions. This is a broad, standalone role with significant responsibility across the full employee lifecycle, benefits administration, compliance, and payroll processing. Position Overview The HR Manager serves as the primary HR resource for the company and partners with senior leadership on people strategy, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day HR and payroll operations. Key Responsibilities • Manage full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and new hire setup across all systems and platforms • Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule; maintain all related systems and records • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment and payroll regulations • Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, 401(k), FSA/HSA, and open enrollment • Maintain and update job descriptions, employee handbook, and HR policies • Develop and deliver training programs; educate managers on performance management best practices • Track and manage annual performance review cycles and employee development initiatives • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, including anti-harassment complaints • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll cost analysis and reporting • Manage compensation strategy based on market research and pay surveys; maintain compensation tracking • Monitor and process promotions, transfers, terminations, and related system updates • Coordinate year-end payroll tasks: W-2 validation, benefit and accrual rollovers, 401(k) census, workers’ compensation reporting • Manage workers’ compensation coverage and mileage reimbursement programs • Oversee employee expense reimbursement review and approval process • Design and implement employee retention strategies • Maintain anti-harassment and data privacy training protocols per legal requirements • Manage vacation liability balances, time-off calendars, and PTO accrual tracking • Register the company as a new employer in additional states as needed • Partner with senior leadership to align HR strategy with business objectives • Maintain company org charts, employee directory, and coordinate with IT on equipment and system access Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience • 3–5 years of HR and payroll processing experience • Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, or similar • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Strong organizational skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset Compensation & Benefits • $85-100K+ DOE • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) with company matching • Hybrid work schedule • Collaborative and supportive team environment
