Ready to keep critical industrial systems running at peak performance? As a Millwright III in Baytown, TX, you’ll install, inspect, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment—ensuring everything operates safely, efficiently, and according to plan. This is a long-term opportunity (12+ months, M–F, 40 hours+) with two openings for experienced millwrights who take pride in quality work, detailed documentation, and continuous improvement through proactive PM efforts.
- 5+ years of millwright experience
- Ability to read and understand:
- written safety procedures and work procedures
- blueprints, P&IDs
- work permits
- technical instruction manuals
- Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity using hand/power tools
- Ability to install stationary industrial machinery/equipment per layout plans
- Experience with inspecting equipment to detect irregularities
- Ability to adjust machinery and repair/replace defective parts
- Ability to operate machine tools to fabricate parts as needed for overhaul, maintenance, or setup
- Commitment to safety: ensure operating safety devices function properly upon completion of repairs/modifications/installation
- Participation in PM program efforts for continuous improvement
- Ability to maintain detailed, accurate maintenance reports/documentation
- Competence with routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubricating equipment
- Adherence to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliance
- Ability to maintain a clean and environmentally safe work area
- TWIC required
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
- Basic computer skills (opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word and Excel)
- Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple tasks under stressful/hazardous conditions
- Effective professional verbal and written communication with teams, customers, and stakeholders
- Strong ability to work safely in industrial environments indoors and outdoors, including temperature extremes
- Physical readiness for the demands of the role (including lifting up to 50 lbs., manually transporting up to 75 lbs., and applying up to 100 foot lbs. of torque)
- Ability to climb/work at heights and work in varied positions
- Ability to respond to visual/aural signals (including alarms and instructions) and perform visual inspections
- Ability to work overtime and complete call-outs
- Must live or be able to relocate within 1 hour of the reporting location
- Experience supporting or leading preventive maintenance (PM) initiatives across industrial equipment
- Familiarity working with industrial electrical environments (working around electrical equipment safely)
- Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent (or technical training in a related trade)
- Experience: 5+ years in millwright/industrial maintenance roles is required; additional years in heavy industrial environments are a strong advantage.
