About the Role
AJ Chambers is working with a well-established Top 50 accountancy practice based in the City of London who are looking for a qualified Accounts Senior / Assistant Manager to join their firm. They have seen tremendous growth in the past year and which has led to this opening, to help them services their newly-won clients.
The firm offer excellent flexibility with their smart working policy, meaning you can work where you like, whether that be in the office, remote, or a mix of the two on a hybrid basis. They also work with a wide variety of clients from Property, Real Estate, Charities, Not-for-Profit and Sport & Media.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for a client portfolio ensuring accurate preparation of management accounts, VAT returns, statutory accounts and a range of ad-hoc reporting within deadlines and budgets across a range of industry sectors.
Accurate and timely preparation of (often complex/bespoke) management accounts and other reporting.
Bookkeeping review using a range of accounting software prepared by clients or junior members of staff.
Supervising and reviewing staff output, and providing help and guidance to more junior staff.
You will have constant interaction with the team and the business services partners.
Proactively update the relevant manager, director and/or partner on clients as and when appropriate.
You will receive training and feedback from exceptional practitioners, along with international and advisory exposure with clients.
Attendance at networking events and dealing with new prospect/potential client proposals
What is required of you?
You will be Qualified ACA or ACCA
You will have experience in dealing with at least some of the following:
Incomplete accounting records and completing substantial accounting adjustments to the original client or third party position;
Consolidation of data from multiple different sources, completing analysis and preparing accounts;
Applying and adjusting accounting treatment for changes in accounting policies or accounting standards;
Ad-hoc client projects such as in-depth accounting system reviews;
Bank funding / drawdown reporting / covenant calculations;
Preparation of sale completion accounts and associated working papers;
Overseeing sale financial due diligence and completion accounts;
The ability to build strong client knowledge and act as an extension to the client;
The ability to interpret client information and challenge the client appropriately;
