Just Teachers is recruiting for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work within a specialist educational setting supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity for someone who is resilient, compassionate and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support pupils to regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively.
- Implement behaviour support plans and restorative approaches.
- Encourage attendance, engagement and confidence in learning.
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies.
- Record progress and contribute to pupil support plans.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with young people with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
- Experience in education, youth work, residential care, mentoring or coaching is highly desirable.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
