Insight and Systemic Lead
Opportunity to use your experience of planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative research to investigate thematic and systemic issues identified by our casework.
The Housing Ombudsman Service provides independent, impartial and fair dispute support and resolution services for nearly 5 million households in England.
The Insight and Systemic Lead role sits within the Insight and Development function of the Housing Ombudsman Service. The Insight and Development function uses casework data analysis, systemic and thematic investigations, research and sector engagement activity to improve housing service provision including through the Centre for Learning.
As Insight and Systemic Lead, you will deliver the Ombudsman’s powers to investigate thematic and systemic issues, contribute to our research and good practice publications, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure production targets are achieved and our work is well-presented internally and externally.
Specifically, your role will include:
Delivering high quality, proportionate and evidence-based special investigations into individual landlords, including drafting clear correspondence and reports to meet agreed schedules, in accordance with Housing Ombudsman policies and processes;
Analysing relevant evidence to identify themes, trends, risks and opportunities and create summaries and reports for management review;
Researching and drafting accurate and impactful Insight and Development publications for management review; and
Planning, attending and leading site visits to landlords for in-person evidence collection, including meeting with senior leaders, staff members and residents.
For this key role, you’ll offer successful experience of:
planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative research;
planning and delivering complex investigations to identify systemic issues;
analysing large volumes of complex evidence to reach credible conclusions and make recommendations for change;
producing high quality written work, including investigation reports;
dealing effectively with difficult conversations and situations; and
prioritising and managing challenging workloads under pressure.
