Role Overview Production Operatives assist in the production, assembly and packing of a variety of goods. The Production Operative will form part of a team and have specific duties within an assigned section. Duties may vary from material handling to finished goods onto a production line, including the packing and inspection of finished products. Key Responsibilities Ensure all production activities follow specification sheets and shop orders in line with the production plan. Operate machinery and equipment safely, complying with all instructions, Health & Safety protocols, and PPE requirements. Monitor product quality during manufacturing and ensure outputs meet required specifications through effective quality checks. Identify and resolve minor production or equipment issues, escalating to the Setter/Team Leader when issues cannot be resolved independently. Accurately label all finished goods and ensure correct documentation and traceability. Maintain accurate production data, process records, and associated documentation. Carry out routine equipment inspections and cleaning in accordance with operational instructions. Report any operational problems or quality concerns immediately to the Setter/Team Leader to minimise impact on output or customers. Adhere to all quality standards, policies, procedures, and relevant legislation, including health and safety regulations. Adopt and contribute to a Continuous Improvement mindset, including Lean practices such as 5S and red‑tagging (training provided).
