About the Role
Staff Accountant Position Overview: The Staff Accountant supports core accounting functions and contributes to accurate financial reporting, effective month-end close, and strong internal controls. This role partners closely with finance and operations teams to ensure smooth day-to-day accounting processes while supporting analysis, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and motivated to grow in a team-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Core Accounting & Close Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end close activities Perform account reconciliations (bank, credit card, prepaid, accruals, fixed assets) and maintain general ledger accuracy Financial Reporting & Analysis Assist with financial statements and management reporting Support project margin and variance analysis; investigate and resolve discrepancies Operational Support Assist with accounts payable, expense processing, and vendor support Support accounts receivable activities, including billing, cash application, and reconciliations Audit, Tax & Compliance Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation Assist with tax-related schedules and filings Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and GAAP Process Improvement Contribute to process improvements and documentation efforts Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1–3 years of accounting experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas) Experience with accounting or ERP systems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities
